The starting point for the “Repetition of things to come” installation is Alexander Korda’s 1936 film “Things to come”, which was inspired by H.G. Wells. The various conflicts in the film all take place in a city which is not only the scene of the action, but also an actor and visual indicator of the film’s dynamic as it unfolds.
The exhibits in the installation follow the architectural principles that were observed when building the city in the film.
The resulting model of the buildings and the underground cavern that surrounds them forms a film set.
